SWinG partners calls for #EachForEqual in sport!
Over the past year, SWinG has been actively committed to increasing the number of women candidates in 2020 and 2021 election in the sport system across Europe.
On 8th March 2020, SWinG partners joined forces to celebrate #InternationalWomensDay. What did we do? We📜 unveiled more about the 💪 👩strong women behind the SWinG mentees.
We believe opening dialogue on diversity in the boardroom is critical to 🚀🆙🏂⚽️.
In the EU, only about 5,3% of NOC President & 5% of National Federations President are women. Are there so few women in the EU? Definitely no! With the SWinG project we want to bring women leaders into the spotlight.
Just like his Majesty Ali Bin Al Hussein who called a year ago at the Equality Summit in Lyon for more GameChangeHer we believe that: “If you want to change the game and system, you need to get the right women – you have to support the right one, the one who will raise their voice and are skilled.”
We know SWinG mentees are GameChangeHer on their journey towards election. And on #IWD2020, we chose to honor and value these committed women.
🔦 SWinG mentees, in addition to their daily commitment, continue with ever greater energy their commitment to their community and sport.
Having walked along their paths in the last 6 months, SWinG partners want to actively advocate for them to become decision makers.
On 8th March 2020, we did not only spotlight women leaders in sport -see the video below- but also called for the sport sector in Europe to lead on ‘Generation Equal’!
SWinG is a 3 years project co-funded by the European Union Programme Erasmus+.
