Sonsoles Montfort Riera is from Barcelona. She works for herself as a Real Estate Agent having studied public relations. But nonetheless sport is her life.

Sonsoles has been a hockey player since the age of 7. She has been an important player at different levels within many sports. She played in the first division for Real Club de Polo de Barcelonahttps://rcpolo.com . And now she actively represents the sport on the board of the Spanish Hockey Federation.

Sonsoles acknowledges and is grateful for all the strength and opportunities she got growing up . She continues to enjoy keeping close ties with her family through sport competition- whether running half marathons, road cycling, competing in paddle competitions or tennis championships.

Within sport she is determined to make sure the role and participation of women is normalised. Advocating that only then, can sport’s potential to leverage new opportunities be realised.

Sonsoles Monfort Riera has got involved with SWinG to learn more about leadership and strategy development. She is ready to take action with the delivery of strategic actions. But also to support the growth of the number of women in sport management.

For SWinG, Sonsoles is being mentored by Clotilde Teson Ruiz from CT Croup, Spain.
