Marianna Sikorowska

Marianna, originally from Poland, graduated in law and focussed her studies on the phenomenon of doping in sport.Since moving to the UK, Marianna has been advisor on sports governance. She is currently working at London Marathon Charitable Trust. Gender equality in sport is her biggest passion and has actively contributed to projects and working groups. She is a member of Women on Boards and has been successfully selected to programmes focusing on good governance, diversity and gender equality in sport.

She is a Non-Executive Director of the British Kickboxing Council, a Volunteer Mentor at Sported UK and a Lecturer in Sports Governance at the AMOS Business School in London and Paris.

She hopes to develop organisational structures to break down the barriers to sport participation for girls and women. This is why she is also working on her own project focusing on creating a place that sends a positive message about women being involved in sports and encourages women to become an active member of the sports movement.

Marianna was surrounded by women decision makers and was also raised by parents who loved their work and so she has already been programmed to spend her time and life on what she is passionate about. Marianna knows she wants to influence change directly and therefore is determined to place herself where she can be empowered to lead change and lead others to achieve their potential.

Mariana is quick to learn as well as build new partnerships, she already has the leadership qualities that will drive positive change in the sports world – in whichever country that may be.

Marianna hopes to progress her sporting career and develop skills in leadership and decision- making. Ultimately, she wants further develop governance structures to improve gender equality
