Let us introduce you to Viktoria Grönkvist
Viktoria, from Sweden, has been involved in sports for the past 20 years as an athlete, volunteer and coach.
She has already taken it upon herself to contribute to the growth of sport in her country – Viktoria launched a project to successfully revive handball in her part of Sweden. This involved visiting schools and organising a handball festival to bring together kids and communities from across the region.
Viktoria Grönkvist aspires to further contribute to sport by increasing participation in general, and of young girls in particular – a group which the sport sector often lets down. She sees sport as the solution for the unacceptable levels of poor physical and mental health among girls. Viktoria’s leadership qualities will make her the right person to evoke confidence and a sense of belonging for young girls in the sports arena. Viktoria’s determination and her practical attitude, to implementing the solutions for negative social trends, is an invaluable asset to sport in her community, and for wider Swedish society.
Viktoria has sought collaboration through various voluntary roles and projects. She recognises the value of collaboration on an international level, and takes any opportunity to learn and share with others. Her curious nature, interest in other cultures, passion for sport and drive to lead further change will see Viktoria become an influential and inspiring leader for many more girls and women in the future
Through the SWinG Project, Viktoria Grönkvist aims to take the next steps on this journey of bringing more girls into sport. She hopes to develop skills in presenting herself and her ideas, to more effectively influence current stakeholders in the sector.
For SWinG, Viktoria is being mentored by Muriel Féraud-Courtin from TAJ – Deloitte, France.
